Ayurveda is a way of healthy living , the practice of which is based on the holistic concept of body, mind and soul. Just like indigenous people developed their own health practices all over the world, Ayurveda was developed in India by our ancient sages. The system’s core strength is its unique approach to health and disease, where natural remedies are advocated to revitalize the healthy and cure diseases in the sick. The Strong and scientific basic principles, upon which Ayurveda is elucidated, have stood the test of time enabling this science to conquer the challenges of new era. The concepts of Dosha, Dhathu and Malas explained on the basis of human anatomy and physiology are still practical and relevant. The normal functioning of these factors maintain normal health, while their derangement leads to disease. Each Dosha viz Vatha, Pitha and Kapha has its own characteristic features in their normality as well as abnormality. By assessing these features an ayurvedic practitioner can understand the diseases and treat accordingly.

Recent studies have validated the genetic basis of this classification, with each constitutional types exhibiting noticeable differences in regard to biochemical and hematological parameters and at genome wide expression levels.
